Help me find a music genre for a party costume?

My friends 18th is coming up. The theme is "come as a famous musician or a genre of music."



Does anyone have any ideas for a costume that would be outragesly awesome but wouldn't cost too much money?

I would love to go as a gogo girl or something else from the disco era, but I'm not sure about what to wear/how to do my hair.
