What would be a good first sportbike?

Well basically I'm thinking of getting a sportbike. I was thinking a Kawasaki Ninja might be good. But I'm not sure. I'm open to all suggestions, so gogoWhat would be a good first sportbike?
Honda VFR/RVF400R

Suzuki SV650S/SFWhat would be a good first sportbike?
ninjas are fast i would say maybe like a honda cbr600 not much but still slower and then you arent as tempted to hurt your self wich is easy to do on a 80 and remember you have lots of bike and not much of you. usually lots of torqueWhat would be a good first sportbike?
If you want a fast but small bike, the ninja 600 is a great bike. But if you want to be a little more comfort, the ninja 650 (v-twin) is a great ride. And because it is a v-twin engine rather than an inline 4, it will have more torque (meaning a faster start). I would buy the v-twin if your going to ride around town. But if your gonna go for top speed, the 600 would smoke the 650. (the versys uses the same engine as the ninja 650 as well).
All the Jap 600s, in each model year, are about as good as each other. OK, maybe the hondas will have a better finish. They all have pretty much the same power, and weight. Some will be slightly more comfortable, some will be slightly more track orientated. They are all fast as f*ck. I used to have a 99 ZX6R and it blew my mind every time I went full throttle over 10,000 rpm.

Dim-Smack doesn't know what he's talking about; the 650 isn't even a V-twin, it's a parallel twin, and it could never be faster than the 600. From a standing start, the 600 would simply need a bit more revs and a bit more cluch slip to access nearly double the power of the 650.
