I need a way to make this costume look more hippie?

http://www.scavengeinc.com/retro-paisley-print-keyhole-gogo-dress-costume-p-3615.html

This is the dress I bought... but for halloween I want to look more like a Hippie... ideas??? and what kind of shoes could I wear?I need a way to make this costume look more hippie?
I LOVE the dress. I would definetly wear go-go boots, add some love beads to dress up the neckline. and go with flowers (think daisys) in the hair. Don't forget the hippie glasses!
Try adding fringe to it, and wearing a head band.I need a way to make this costume look more hippie?
Dont wear shoes :o)

Most hippies go barefoot Or use plastic bags (Or sandals)

You could also make a crown out of flowers (Daisy's and such)

For a shirt an easy thing to do is just buy cheap paints and paint random shapes on a shirt then mix the rest in water and soak.

Sounds stupid but trust me some people wouldnt be able to tell the difference :o)

Plus you will unique, im sure alot of people are going as hippies in boring old uniforms that are supposed to look like what a hippy wears.

Good luck :o)

Also headbands do well if u cant make a flower crown.

And get a acoustic guitar if you can (And play like c.rap even if you know how to play, because everyone knows hippies cant play for nuts)
Actually, the costume you're showing isn't "hippie." It's mod %26amp; its the style I wore at the time. The boots are perfect. Wear lots of rings %26amp; long necklaces for the finishing touch.

Both styles were popular at the same time.

True hippies usually wore long dresses and sandals. Hair was always parted in the middle and worn long and straight. They dressed quite simply.I need a way to make this costume look more hippie?
If you're going to wear this, you can't call yourself a hippie. Hippies ran around with no shoes on (or sandals), bell bottoms, peaseant shirts, headbands, colorful sunglasses, and peace signs. In other words, they had a more natural, less glamorous look about them. The chick in this picture is NOT dressed like a hippie. She looks more like a go-go dancer. Look up Woodstock Hippie images on Google images.

Your costume is sixties, but it's mod, like on Austin Powers. As a matter of fact, watch the movie for more ideas.
a chain link belt below the waist - where hip hugger jeans would come to.

sandals or barefoot.

a HENNA tatto , of a heart or a smiley face on the ankle

The right earrings - peace signs if possible.
just let your dog walk on your dressing with dirty feet(probably tide-dieted feet) and VU A LA!

good weekend!
I was going to say headband also, maybe you could carry a copy of Mao's Little Red Book.
You should wear tall, bright boots like the woman in the picture.

Plus, maybe a long '"peace" necklace and a colorful headand.

To top it all off, maybe one of those short vests that are freyed at the edges.
DAMN Shes hottttt.....anyways try a necklace wit a peace simbol hippie glasses and if u want to go to extremes a hippie van the old volks wagon...........u could also weat bracelets
have a doobie hanging from your mouth.
Wear high boots if you have them. And it's not in the clothes as much as the accessories. If you can get a cloth headband or some flowers in your hair that will make the outfit.

Oversized long jewlery is in now, so it should be easy enough to get some jewlery.

Sunglasses will help.
Chunky heels, scrunched hair, headbands (the kind that go from the forehead to the back of the head [not the normal ones]), any peace sign jewelery, but don't wear too much-- simple costumes can be the best =]
get an afro wig. sucky
big chunky shoes with a big heal, where a bandanna, tie dye if u have one , put it around ur head, where a peace sign necklace.
