Why was Gogo Yubari In Kill Bill?

She was not necessary to the plot, had no history with Beatrix so why do YOU think that Quentin Tarantino put her in Kill Bill Vol 1.Why was Gogo Yubari In Kill Bill?
None of the Crazy 88 has a specific background with Bea. The only ones from that crowd that have a specific background are O-Ren and Sophie.

The Crazy 88 and, specifically, Gogo, serve to show the kind of people that O-Ren has surrounded herself with. Gogo is young, but brutal. Sounds a little like O-Ren, who became a killer at a very early age.

Plus, Gogo and Jonny-Mo are excellent fighters and give some personality to the fight scenes. It's not just Bea fighting with a bunch of anonymous fighters.

Lastly, remember that Kill Bill is QT's homage to kung fu and samurai film genres. Watch any of those films and you will see similar characters.
Director Quentin Tarantino was a big fan or the Japanese movie Batoru rowaiaru (2000) aka Battle Royale....so he cast Chiaki Kuriyama (who played Takako Chigusa in Battle Royale... as Gogo Yubari.

Trivia...The character Gogo was originally written as two characters: the twin Yubari sisters, Gogo and Yuki. Gogo had almost no lines and after her death at the hands of The Bride, Yuki would seek her out, only to be killed as well, in the "lost" chapter "Yuki's Revenge". All of Gogo's dialogue in the final film would have been spoken by Yuki.

Additional Trivia...Gogo Yubari is not a real Japanese name. "Gogo" derives from Mach GoGoGo (aka Speed Racer), a Japanese anime that Quentin Tarantino liked when he was young. Yubari is the name of a small town in Hokkaido, northern Japan, that is famous for melons and film. Tarantino's first visit to Japan was to showcase Reservoir Dogs (1992) at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. When Tarantino planned to cast Gogo and Yuki Yubari, his first choices were Chiaki Kuriyama and Kou Shibasaki. Both had roles in the 2000 hit, _Batoru Rowaiaru (2000)_.

More additional trivia....When Chiaki Kuriyama (Gogo) was shooting the scene where she flings her ball and chain out, she accidentally hit Quentin Tarantino on the head while he stood by the camera. Why was Gogo Yubari In Kill Bill?
shes just one of those typical henchmen type characters that they always have in kung fu movies. theres always a bodyguard for the main villain, and thats what gogo is. plus, i guess quentin just decided he wanted some of that mace action in his film cos it was cool. thats mostly how it works with tarantino, if its cool he puts it in the film. and most of the time, it is cool
She was a twisted henchman with a cool gimmick. It fits the genre formula QT et al was following. Plus the whole movie is what at least 4 maybe 6 hours. They had time for some extra fight. It'd be boring if the whole Crazy 88 (I think that was the gang) were all faceless thugs to get in Bea's way. Also it shows that Bea was willing to cut though whoever was necessary or got in her way to finish her list. Why was Gogo Yubari In Kill Bill?
Didn't she just work for Lucy Liu's character? She's probably just something extra for Uma to kick a**!!!! Awesome scene..
Maybe he saw her in Battle Royale and thought she was great.
