In Japanese, of course.
I mean, I know that gozen is like AM (and gogo is like PM), but would gozen juuni mean 12 at night (like in English) or 12 in the middle of the day?What do gogo and gozen mean exactly?
εε= Before noon (am) gozen
εεΎ= after noon (pm) gogo.
Gozen jyuuni= 12 am, (midnight).
As the other responder states, Japan goes by military time. You see shops that will say 0800-1700 for business hours or whatever. It reduces all confusion.What do gogo and gozen mean exactly?
think of it more like "morning" and "afternoon". I think 'haru' would be used for noon more often than either of gogo or gozen, but perhaps another poster will have a more exact answer.
Remember, though, that Japan uses military time, so this issue doesn't really come up.
